Hyperloop Interior

2020 - Industrial Design

Blending comfort and safety for high-speed travel.

During a hyperloop journey, the seats within each pod must fulfill distinct criteria to accommodate passengers. On one hand, these seats should offer comfort and incorporate various gadgets for passenger entertainment during the ride. On the other hand, the seat design and engineering are vital to ensure passenger safety in unforeseen situations. Given that the hyperloop pod will reach a remarkable speed of approximately 1200km/h (746mph), the seats play a vital role in safeguarding passengers in the event of an emergency brake scenario.

Tailored spaces and modular amenities.

The hyperloop is set to provide a range of space arrangements within each pod, catering to economy, business, and first-class preferences. Additionally, the lavatories, galley, and storage units within each pod will be designed in a modular way for enhanced flexibility.

Enhancing emergency safety.

In the event of an emergency brake, the lower framework of each seat will pivot, tilting the entire seat upward at a 45% angle similar to a children's swing. This movement is aimed at lessening the impact force on the body during such an event. While this adjustment won't make for a comfortable emergency stop, its purpose is to significantly enhance passenger safety and save lives.
